Winback
Also called: reactivation campaign, lapsed customer programme
A winback is a campaign aimed at customers who have stopped buying or engaging, asking them to return before they are suppressed under a sunset rule. It is worth running because reaching a known customer is normally cheaper than acquiring a new one, and because it shows which part of the lapsed file is genuinely dead. Keep the window tight, hold out a control group, and count only incremental orders: some lapsed customers would have returned regardless.
