Webhook
Also called: HTTP callback, event callback
A webhook is an HTTP request that one system sends to another the moment an event happens, rather than waiting to be asked. For CRM teams they carry real-time signals — an order placed, a subscription cancelled — into the messaging platform so a journey can fire within seconds. The common failure is treating delivery as guaranteed: endpoints time out, senders retry a few times and then give up, so you need idempotent handling and a reconciliation job that catches whatever was dropped.
