SMS marketing
Also called: text marketing, short message marketing
SMS marketing is promotional or lifecycle messaging sent to a mobile number, usually short, with very high and very fast read rates. Teams reach for it when timing decides the outcome — delivery windows, abandoned baskets, expiring offers — and email is too slow. It is also the most expensive channel per message and the least forgiving: consent rules are stricter than for email, opt-outs must be honoured straight away, and one badly timed send at night produces complaints.
