Seed list
Also called: seed testing, inbox placement test
A seed list is a set of test mailboxes spread across the main providers that receive a copy of a campaign, so you can see where it landed: inbox, a secondary tab, spam or missing entirely. It gives a rough read on placement that raw delivery figures cannot. Treat it as a smoke alarm rather than a measurement. Seed accounts have no genuine engagement history, so they often disagree with what real recipients see, especially at Gmail.
