IP warming
Also called: warm-up, ramp plan, warming schedule
IP warming is the practice of raising volume on a new sending IP or domain gradually, so mailbox providers build a reputation record before they see full traffic. Skip it and a sudden spike looks like a bought or compromised list, which throttles or blocks mail for weeks. Warm with your most engaged contacts first, hold each step until bounce and complaint numbers stay clean, and plan for a ramp measured in weeks rather than days.
