ELT
Also called: extract load transform, ETL
ELT loads raw data into the warehouse first and transforms it there with SQL, reversing the older ETL order in which data was reshaped before it landed. Cheap warehouse storage and compute made this the default, and it means the raw source is still there when a definition changes. For CRM teams the practical effect is that a correction to how orders are counted becomes a change to a model, not a re-ingestion of history. The modelling burden moves to analytics engineering.
