Data subject access request
Also called: DSAR, subject access request
A data subject access request is a person asking an organisation for a copy of the personal data it holds about them, along with how that data is used and who it is shared with. It matters to CRM teams because the answer has to cover the whole marketing stack — the sending platform, the CDP, the warehouse, the support tool — not just the core database. Response deadlines are tight, so the real work is mapping in advance where one customer's records live.
