Double opt-in
Also called: confirmed opt-in, DOI
Double opt-in is a sign-up flow where a new subscriber must click a link in a confirmation email before they join the list. It trades a share of raw sign-ups for a file of verified, genuinely interested addresses, which usually improves both placement and revenue per contact. It is the strongest defence against typo addresses and bot form fills, and in several markets the cleanest way to evidence consent. The confirmation message must arrive within seconds.
