Browse abandonment
Also called: browse recovery
Browse abandonment is a triggered message sent after someone views products without adding anything to a basket. Intent is weaker and less explicit than with an abandoned basket, so the programme earns less and irritates more easily. Cap frequency firmly, exclude anyone who has already bought the item or a close substitute, and do not trigger from a single short page view. It works best when the message reads as useful context on the category rather than surveillance.
