Attribution model
Also called: last click, multi-touch attribution
An attribution model is a rule for dividing credit for a conversion among the touchpoints that preceded it — last click gives everything to the final interaction, multi-touch spreads it across several. Teams care because the model quietly decides which channels look like they earn their budget. Every model is an assumption rather than a measurement, and none of them prove cause, which is why serious budget decisions pair attribution with holdouts or geo tests instead of trusting the report alone.
